Distracted by our busy minds and hectic schedules, many of us are so focused on what we are doing, we lose touch with what we are feeling. Yet chronically neglecting or actively avoiding our inner experiences can result in a pervasive sense of anxiety, dissatisfaction, and disconnection that undermines our capacity for happiness. As the Vietnamese monk, poet, and peace activist Thich Nhat Hanh wrote, “Love is paying attention.” It is indeed difficult to truly love ourselves, our lives, or each other if we cannot be present.
Love Is Presence invites us back home to the present moment using the transformational practices of Insight (Vipassana) meditation and mindfulness training. Love Is Presence emphasizes applying dharma practice to daily life, using mindfulness to manifest our potential; improve professional, academic, or creative performance; deepen our relationships; reduce stress; free ourselves from compulsive and addictive behaviors; and touch an inner joy and vitality we may have forgotten even existed.
Teachings and discussions are based not only on Buddhist philosophy, but also on a range of wisdom traditions, Western psychology, inspired world literature, and the creative process. We offer studio workshops and teacher training, private instruction, and an academic wellness programs. We invite you to read about our practice and to join us!
